Poverty Justice Camp 2009

The Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island was pleased to host the national Justice Camp in 2009.  The theme chosen by the local coalition was Poverty Justice Camp: Finding Abundance.  The camp was based in Halifax, NS at the University of King's College from August 9-15, 2009.  Immersion groups were held in various location all over Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, which made for a challenging but rich experience.  Thanks to all who joined us.

The King's Chapel Community was well represented in the planning team for the 2009 Justice Camp. Katie Puxley (King's graduate and teaching assistant in the History of Science and Technology programme) was co-chair. Dave Puxley (FYP tutor and postulant for Holy Orders sponsored by the Chapel Community), Ron Haflidson (FYP tutor and SAMS advisor), Ted Williams (chorister), and Cydney Proctor (server) were all part of the planning team. They would be happy to speak to you about their experiences at this and previous Justice Camps.

The Anglican Journal featured an article about the Camp.
